LAPD Raid The Avenues Gang in Northeast Los Angeles Twelve-hundred police officers raided Glassel Park at 3 a.m. and arrested 50 Avenues gang members. The officers served warrants for drug and gun trafficking among other federal felonies. The raid is a part of a multi-agency crime crackdown. Mayor Villariagosa, LAPD, and other officials discussed the crackdown in a news conference this afternoon, saying both tough on crime policies and crime prevention programs are needed to address city gang crime.
