Protestors say they are taxed enough already Dozens of Tea-Partiers gathered in front of the Torrance Civic Center this afternoon to display their distaste for the state and federal governments. Protesting against big government and what they say is outrageous spending in Washington, the demonstrators waved Revolutionary-era American flags while many passing cars beeped their horns in agreement. USC President Community New USC President Max Nikias has a tall order ahead of him. He will not only be expected to lead a university that boasts 35,000 students and 14,000 employees to new heights, but will also be called upon to continue to reach out to the community outside USCs campus, the way Steven Sample did before him. Study finds local TV News in L.A. is not doing its job A study released today by the Norman Lear Center says that if you get all your news from local television broadcasts in Los Angeles, you will most likely be out of touch with what is going on in local government. Water Restoration Act Aims to Cut Pollution A report released today by Environment California warns of the dangers of pollution in bodies of water across the nation, including the Los Angeles River. According to the nonprofit organizations report, the Federal Clean Water Act has failed to stop unchecked pollution allowing sewage, oil, and other toxic wastes to damage our water sources.
