Bus Riders Oppose MTA Hikes and Cuts As Los Angeles' Metropolitan Transit Authority faces a large budget deficit, it is planning to cut some of its service and increase bus fares. These actions, however, have drawn the ire of the Bus Riders' Union. Members say the hikes and cuts will make riding the bus extremely costly, and even prevent them from using the service. They are urging the government to take action to prevent this from occurring and keep costs low- and allow them to ride the bus. (posted 4/20/10) By Grant Tunkel
