Protesters Force President Obama to Address"Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” Policy Inside Senator Barbara Boxer's fundraiser, President Obama was interrupted by activists from GETEQUAL, demanding he repeal the military's policy of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." Zoe Nicholson was the third protester to cause the President to stop his speech, and lose his cool. GETEQUAL protests continued Tuesday, April 20 as an Iraq war veteran released from the army by "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," handcuffed himself to the White House's gates. Bus Riders Oppose MTA Hikes and Cuts As Los Angeles' Metropolitan Transit Authority faces a large budget deficit, it is planning to cut some of its service and increase bus fares. These actions, however, have drawn the ire of the Bus Riders' Union. Members say the hikes and cuts will make riding the bus extremely costly, and even prevent them from using the service. They are urging the government to take action to prevent this from occurring and keep costs low- and allow them to ride the bus. (posted 4/20/10) By Grant Tunkel
