Jefferson Park spans west of the 110 and south of the 10 to Crenshaw and Exposition. The area is marked by single-family Craftsman style homes that were developed in the first quarter of the 20th century.
Racial covenants prohibited African Americans and Asian Americans from owning property, so early residents were primarily caucasian. Since then, the area has grown to house a predominately African American and Latino population.
Construction for a light rail line along Exposition from downtown Los Angeles to Culver City is underway.
